ACCESSING IDEASTRACKER

What you need to get started

Minimum spec for a User or Administrator:

**If you don't want a version which runs using Flash, or Flash isn't permitted in your internal network, please contact us before ordering and we'll supply you a non-Flash version.

HOSTING

If you don't have your own servers or IT department, it's very easy to have IdeasTracker hosted by an internet service provider (preferably an IdeasTracker Hosting Partner).

For large installations, dedicated servers with multiple redundancy should be used; smaller installations will run on quite low-spec servers running other sites, as long as the software requirements are met.

SERVER SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

PHP can run on a number of different web servers - IIS and Apache are the commonest ones. IdeasTracker is programmed in PHP and has been thoroughly tested with MySQL and Apache, however, it has a database extraction layer. This means that with a bit of setup and migration, you should be able to interface with just about any database from most operating systems, as listed below. If you don't want to use IIS or Apache and MySQL please contact us and we can assist you.

PHP decoders for faster server processing

IonCube runtime loaders are bundled with IdeasTracker, but if you want to install IonCube decoders on your server to give more performance it can be downloaded here:

You may also want to install PHP Accelerator to increase the speed of PHP on your server:

If your hosting provider provides no access to the php.ini file (i.e. they won't install Ioncube, or you can't change it yourself), download the Ioncube version as it has runtime loaders included. Check with your hosting provider that they do not block runtime loading. If this is the case, and they won't accommodate you, you may want to switch providers as encoded files run up to 500% faster than unencoded files.

Those options in bold are the only options guaranteed to work with no customization.
